Bobi Reveals NUP Leadership School’s Mission, To Resume Nationwide Tours

The president of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine Friday, revealed that the mission of their newly launched Leadership school is to teach its supporters ways of deposing President Yoweri Museveni.

Kyagulanyi, who tackled wide-ranging issues including rising human rights violations, Lubigi demolitions by NEMA, etc, was addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters at Makerere Kavule.

“In our [NUP leadership] school, we teach how to remove Museveni. We are aware of the intention of the police to close our school because they want an ignorant population,” Kyagulanyi asserted, “we do not hide it; our mission is to remove Museveni from power.”

He assured his supporters that it was even possible for Ugandans to emulate their counterparts in Kenya who went to the streets to successfully protest against the Finance Bill, 2024 that had been passed through parliament by President Ruto.

Kyagulanyi announced plans to resume nationwide mobilization tours, aimed at energizing the grassroots and promoting the party’s agenda. The tours paused due to a suspension by police, but Kyagulanyi said, will now restart with renewed vigor.

However, Lewis Rubongoya, the NUP secretary General said that he had received a letter from police directing them to appear before them on Thursday next week, and they vowed to comply with police’s directives to avoid undue skirmishes.

Meanwhile, NUP leadership also has another appearance at the police regarding the party’s leadership school.

With the leadership school cleared by police, and mobilization tours back in focus, NUP appears poised to regain momentum, setting the stage for a potentially intense political landscape in the coming months.
