Martin Luther Nsibirwa-The Tree That Never Enjoyed It’s Shade
Social media is a lie. It creates a false confidence that gives the unfit space to slander those that they are supposed to cherish.
If at all he cares to listen and learn, someone tell National Unity Platform (NUP) blogger Yekolera that without Katikkiro Nsibirwa there would be no Makerere University where his Presidential Hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu graduated with a Diploma in Music Dance and Drama (MDD). Therefore, his grandson Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa should be held in high esteem.
I have been irritated with a TikTok video in which a scary-faced vlogger commonly known as Yekolera ridiculed the person of Buganda’s Finance Minister and his entire family by downsizing the immense contribution their great grandfather offered to Buganda and Uganda as a whole.
It is the barbarian Yekoleras of the time, which shot a visionary and Buganda patriot because their knowledge could not go beyond their noses.
It is under similar circumstances of giving the unfit relevancy that a man who laid a stellar foundation of Institution of High Education was recklessly killed in cold blood.
Nsibirwa served twice as the Katikkiro, he is credited for building the Twekobe, and he is the first Ugandan to advocate for electricity to be generated here, he requested the Colonial government to extend electricity and clean water to the entire Buganda Kingdom.
He is a big legacy-Northcote Hall changed name to Nsibirwa Hall and he is father of veteran politician and Senior Citizen Rhoda Kalema-a woman of great stature.
No words can explain Nsibirwa’s legacy in its entirety.
That is the legacy a one Ignorant Yekolera with a Facebook account, smart phone and paka last data wants to soil in exchange of likes and following.
At 25, for instance Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga was writing Kabaka’s speeches, today’s bloggers at 35+ are gossiping on internet.
