Mpuuga, Among, Lukwago Mourn MP Ssemujju Father’s Death

Top politicians, including Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, Nyendo-Mukungwe and Parliamentary Commissioner Mathias Mpuuga, and Erias Lukwago, the PFF president have paid tribute to Hajj Ali Nganda, father of MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.
In a heartfelt message, Among extended her condolences to the Nganda family, acknowledging the deep loss of a family pillar.
“On behalf of the Parliament of Uganda and myself, I send my sincere condolences to my brother, Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, and the entire Nganda family on the loss of their patriarch, Hajj Ali Nganda,” she wrote.
Hajj Ali Nganda passed away on December 13, 2024, at the age of 89, after a brief illness. He was a highly respected figure within his family and community. His son, MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, has been a prominent figure in Ugandan politics, serving as the Member of Parliament for Kira Municipality.
The late Hajj Ali Nganda will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at his ancestral home in Bijaaba, Kyazanga, Lwengo District.
His passing has drawn condolences from various leaders and individuals across the country, reflecting the deep respect he commanded.
“Saddened by the news of the passing on of Hajji Ali Nganda, the father to my brother, Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda,” Mpuuga posted on his X account, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
Erias Lukwago, the Lord Mayor of Kampala, and interim leader of Ssemujju’s new political home the People’s Freedom Front stated, “devastated by the news of the passing on of Alhajji Nganda, father to Hon Ssemujju Nganda. Inna lillahi wa inna illaihi raji’oon.”
