A brewing war is unfolding within the leading opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) party, sparked by a disagreement between Bobi Wine’s blind follower, Charles Mpanga aka Mapmedia TV, and the party leadership through their emissaries within the same media department.
Until January 24, 2025, Mpanga, was among the top three blue-eyed leaders of Bobi’s digital media team including Jonah Atusingwize and Summer Uganda. He was very instrumental in fighting Bobi’s wars with all the people Bobi personally disagrees with, and he was always praised until when his works touched on Bobi’s individual interests.
However, things changed for Mpanga after publishing a photo and the video that exposed a top government agent only identified as Muhumuza enjoying life with a UK-based Ugandan Patricia Ssewungu.
Unaware that by exposing the details of Muhumuza and Patricia Ssewungu he was indirectly exposing the allies of his party bosses Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi, and other key NUP members because it has been revealed, Muhumuza directly works with them.
Muhumuza’s connections to the NUP cartel, comprising David Lewis Rubongoya, Benjamin Katana, Joel Ssenyonyi, Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, and King Saha, have raised eyebrows.
King Saha, is a musician who is a son-in-law to president Yoweri Museveni’s young brother also rumored to be the defacto president, but Saha associates with NUP leader Bobi.
Another key player in this dismissal is Patricia Ssewungu, a state agent based in UK and a close friend of Bobi Wine and his wife. She was pictured with Muhumuza, sparking Mpanga’s investigation.
Patricia Ssewungu, the young sister to Kalungu West MP Joseph Ssewungu both descendants of Rwanda who are all out to send Baganda politician in disarray is alleged to possess three passports for the United Kingdom, Rwandan passport, and a diplomatic Ugandan Parliament.
An Exposure Of Muhumuza Touches NUP Leadership
An impromptu meeting was then chaired by his workmates Summer and Atusingwize whoo both hail from the western region in which they came up with his charge sheet in a matter they were the complainants, the prosecutors, and judges. Indeed, they passed a judgement to fire him from the team with immediate effect.
What was more ironical is that Mpanga was never given an opportunity to be heard even when he wrote to all the party leaders who all out rightly ignored him despite receipt confirmation.
Mpanga’s dismissal from the party has led to a heated debate, with him claiming that Patricia Ssewungu was invited to defend herself, while he was not given the same opportunity.
“Patricia Ssewungu was invited by NUP leaders, but I was not invited to defend myself,” Mpanga said.
The intrigue within NUP has sparked a war among its blind followers, with Mpanga questioning the party leadership’s motives.
“Who is Muhumuza in the NUP?” Mpanga asked. He added,”I cannot do anything in NUP that exposes Museveni, and when I cannot do the same within NUP when doing the same things Kyagulanyi tells us.”
Mpanga’s allegations have exposed the deep-seated divisions within the NUP party. The party’s leadership has been accused of being incompetent and dishonest, with Mpanga claiming that he was unfairly dismissed without a chance to defend himself.
The controversy surrounding Muhumuza’s role in NUP has raised questions about the party’s relationship with the government. Mpanga’s revelations have sparked a heated debate, with some calling for the party leadership to come clean about their dealings with government agents.
As the war unfolds, Mpanga has vowed to continue speaking out against the party leadership’s wrongdoing. “I have given NUP all my heart,” Mpanga said, “But I have badly paid back. The leaders of NUP got my dismissal letter, but instead of listening to my side, they just stamped it, and was shown the exit door.”
The NUP party’s internal conflicts have been simmering for months, with some members accusing the leadership of being out of touch with the party’s grassroots supporters. The controversy surrounding Muhumuza’s role in the party has brought these tensions to the fore.
Mpanga’s allegations have raised questions about the leadership’s accountability and transparency, and the NUP leadership has been accused of being secretive and authoritarian, with some members calling for greater democracy and accountability within the party.
