Police Arrest NGO Director And Scout Trainer Kangaave For Alleged Child Abuse
The Police in Entebbe have arrested Kangaave Fred, a prominent figure in the community, for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl (name withheld) under his care.
Kangaave is the Director of Kangaave Education Services Foundation, an NGO that provides bursaries to vulnerable students.
Before his current role, Kangaave was a former Boda-Boda rider who founded the Kangaave Education Services Foundation to give back to the community.
However, Kangaave has also been working as a scout trainer, visiting different schools to train scouts. Unfortunately, this position of trust allegedly provided him with opportunities to take advantage of young girls.
According to reports, during the Scout’s camp in Entebbe in July 2024 Kangaave allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl who was still a “virgin.” The girl’s mother noticed her daughter’s rotting condition when she returned home and confronted her, leading to the disclosure of the alleged abuse.
The victim was severely affected, both physically and emotionally, and had to be hospitalized for over two weeks. Even after treatment, she was still traumatized and refused to return to school.
The girl’s mother initially tried to negotiate a settlement with Kangaave without involving the police, but eventually tipped off the police authorities, leading to his arrest during a meeting with the victim’s mother.
Kangaave was arrested on Thursday and is currently being held at Entebbe Police Station, with case reference number 101/16/72024.
