Democratic Front (DF) National Executive Committee Unveiled

The Democratic Front (DF) held its inaugural Delegates’ Conference on June 26, 2025, where over 107 members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) were elected to serve for a period of three years.
Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, was elected as the founding President of the party, deputized by four Vice Presidents: Pascal Amuriat for the Eastern region, Hajji Abdnoor Kyamundu for Buganda region, and two positions for the Northern and Western regions remain unfilled.
Kimaanya-Kabonera MP Abed Bwanika was elected as the Treasurer General, deputized by Steven Kato as Deputy Treasurer-Budget, and John Mark Mukisa and Shifah Nanyanzi as Deputies for Fundraising.
Former Makindye East MP Michael Mabikke was elected as the Secretary General, deputized by Ssentongo Muzafaru as Deputy Secretary-Administration and delegate to NSF, and Ochieng Peter as Secretary General-policy and research.
Henry Lubowa was elected as the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, deputized by Rachel Kagoye, Joseph Kasirye, Bulesa Hassan, and Alice Nanyunja.
Masaka City Woman MP Juliet Nakabuye Kakande was elected as the National Women Leader, with regional leaders including Grace Nakanwagi for Buganda, Sarah Babirye Madowe for Eastern, and two positions for the Northern and Western regions remain unfilled.
Ex-Lubaga North MP Moses Kasibante was elected as the Party Spokesperson, deputized by Nabwire Namugabo, and Counsel Sulaiman Kakaire was elected as the Party’s National Legal Advisor, deputized by counsel Ivan Bwowe.
The conference also passed several key resolutions, including adopting the Democratic Front Agenda, continuing to work with collective opposition voices to advocate for the release of political prisoners, pursuing reforms and transition processes with other parties, and granting the NEC powers to create more offices and appoint individuals to fill vacant positions.

Conference Resolutions
